Just as life is full of twists and turns, so to is this design. In a marked contrast to the other designs done mostly to mimic stone, this design is meant to emulate the dramatic effect of beaten copper or bronze, reflective, warm and welcoming.
First, I would like to thank you for the opportunity of submitting ideas for your new and great space. I have every confidence that it will not only prevail as one of the most special places of it's kind but, also as an attraction in one of the greatest cities in the world.
All of the designs that I've submitted are intended to be created in a very deep relief, suggesting weight, substance and richness.
My mediums for projects of this kind are: Carved styrofoam, refined with gypsum and then coated in a structural urethane resin for durability. The art work is then primed and treated with a variety of different mediums to achieve its textures and colors.
Of course none of these designs are final, they are all basically sketches meant to stimulate the imagination. They can be changed, reconfigured or rendered in entirely different colors of textures. I'm sure that all of the colors will be subject to adjustment once I am made aware of the floor covering and wall treatments.
As these design each represent large areas and detail the prices will average between $15,000 to $20,000. Smaller walls will of course cost less while larger walls may cost more.
Generally, my method of payment is as follows: 50% of the total to begin a project and, 50% of the total at the projects completion.
I have also studied the photos of the original architectural details that you wish to recreate. You were absolutely correct in believing that a full mold would be required. In order to give you an accurate price, I will have to return and take measurements.
